Templates Listing Page

When you open Messaging → WhatsApp Templates from the left menu, you land on the listing page. This is your central dashboard for all templates.

1. Log in as tenant admin → Expand "Messaging" in left menu → Click "WhatsApp Templates"
2. Make sure you have 4–5 templates with different statuses (Approved, Pending, Rejected)
3. Capture the full page — top bar (search + Sync + Create) and the template list

What you see on this page

Each template in the list shows four pieces of information:

ColumnWhat it means
NameThe unique name of your template (e.g., order_confirmation)
CategoryThe type — Marketing, Utility, or Authentication
LanguageThe language of the template (e.g., English, Hindi, Tamil)
StatusWhether WhatsApp has approved, rejected, or is still reviewing it

Understanding Template Statuses

Only templates with Approved status can be used to send messages to customers.

Use the search bar at the top to quickly find a template by its name or category. Just start typing and the list will filter automatically.

Sync Button

Click the Sync button to refresh all template statuses from WhatsApp. This is useful when:

  • You are waiting for a pending template to be approved
  • You created templates outside this portal (e.g., in Meta Business Manager)
  • You want to make sure everything is up to date

Create Template

Click the Create Template button to start building a new template. This takes you to the template creation page.

If you don't see the Create Template or Sync buttons, your role may not have permission to create templates. Contact your administrator.

Actions on each template

When you click on or hover over a template row, you can perform these actions:

2. Hover over any template row so the action icons appear
3. Capture just that one row with all 4 icons visible (eye, pencil, copy, image)

ViewEye iconOpens a popup showing the full template details and a WhatsApp-style preview
EditPencil iconOpens the template editor to make changes
CloneCopy iconCreates a copy of the template for you to modify
Change MediaImage iconUpdates the image, video, or document without editing the whole template

Viewing a Template

Click the View button to open a read-only popup. This shows:

  • Template name, category, language, and status
  • Full message preview (how it looks in WhatsApp)
  • All components (header, body, footer, buttons)
  • Option to copy the template data to clipboard

Desktop vs Mobile View

  • On desktop/tablet: Templates appear in a table format with columns
  • On mobile: Templates appear as cards that you can tap to expand
