WhatsApp Templates

What are WhatsApp Templates?

WhatsApp Templates are pre-approved message formats that you use to start conversations with your customers. Before you can send a message to someone who hasn't messaged you in the last 24 hours, you need an approved template.

Think of templates as ready-made letter formats — you design the message once, get it approved by WhatsApp, and then fill in the blanks (like customer name, order number, etc.) each time you send it.

Why do you need templates?

WhatsApp requires businesses to use approved templates to:

  • Prevent spam — Only approved messages reach customers
  • Maintain quality — Messages must follow WhatsApp's content guidelines
  • Protect users — Customers only receive relevant, expected messages

How the process works

1. You create a template in the portal

2. WhatsApp reviews it (takes minutes to hours)

3. If approved → You can use it to send messages
If rejected → Edit and resubmit
