FAQ

Frequently asked questions about QR Codes & Short Links.

Can I edit the QR code image after creation?

No. The QR code image and short link are generated by WhatsApp and cannot be changed after creation. You can only update the label and prefilled message. If you need a different QR code, create a new one and delete the old one.

Do QR codes expire?

No. WhatsApp QR codes never expire. They remain active until you manually delete them.

What happens when a customer scans the QR code?

WhatsApp opens on the customer's device with the prefilled message already typed in. The customer can review and edit the message before tapping Send. Once sent, the conversation appears in your EzPulze inbox.

What's the difference between SVG and PNG?

FormatBest forWhy
SVGPrint materials (posters, flyers, business cards, packaging)Vector format — scales to any size without losing quality
PNGDigital use (websites, emails, social media)Raster format — works everywhere but may pixelate when enlarged

What's the maximum number of QR codes I can create?

WhatsApp allows up to 2,000 QR codes per phone number. The current usage is shown at the bottom of the QR codes list page.

Why can't I see the Create / Edit / Delete buttons?

Your user role may not have the required permissions. Ask your administrator to assign the appropriate QR code scopes to your role. See Managing QR Codes — Permissions.

What does the Sync button do?

The Sync button fetches the current list of QR codes from WhatsApp and updates your local database:

  • New QR codes on WhatsApp are added to your list
  • QR codes that no longer exist on WhatsApp are removed from your list
  • Existing QR codes have their details refreshed

This is useful if QR codes were created or deleted outside of EzPulze.

Yes. Every QR code comes with a short link (e.g., https://wa.me/message/ABC123). You can share this link anywhere — on your website, in emails, on social media, or in SMS messages. Clicking the link has the same effect as scanning the QR code.

Why does the QR thumbnail show a generated image instead of the WhatsApp image?

WhatsApp only provides the QR code image URL when you create a new QR code. For QR codes that were synced or imported, the image may not be available. In those cases, EzPulze generates a QR code from the short link for display purposes. The generated QR code works the same way.

Can customers edit the prefilled message before sending?

Yes. The prefilled message is a suggestion — customers can modify it before tapping Send. This means the actual message you receive may differ from the prefilled text.

Does the label appear to customers?

No. The label is internal only — it helps you organize and identify your QR codes. Customers only see the prefilled message when they scan the QR code.
